:icongeneral-radix: did another sketch for me of these two that I inked and colored in.

This is near the end of everything for them. After a serious injury and Ana nearly dying from the war that continued to wage against the humans and the Mobians, Charles became obsessive over the idea of stopping death. In my universe I see Charles as a person who cannot cope with loss and seeing his sister nearly die was a big driving point to the creation of the roboticizer. He's witnessed the death of people and seen the loss it left in so many friends that he fears ever experiencing it again. It is a selfish fear that he hides even from himself by saying he simply wants to help everyone.

Which of course is true enough, but it's not the underlined drive.

Ana and Jules watch their brother become very manic about it and although Jules prefers a more neutral/borderline supportive stance at his brothers noble work, Ana is completely against it.

Not quite zealously religious, Ana believes greatly in the idea of an afterlife and the very idea of living forever trapped in a machine frightens and upsets her greatly. She tries to talk Charles out of the idea of it but he simply insists that what he will create will change the world.

Well, that was definitely true. :S

I think the roboticizer is one of the only things Chuck and Ana genuinely argued over. Ana knew he was doing this because of what happened to her, and Charles felt hurt that she couldn't appreciate that fact.

Again, sad face. :C

I gotta admit, I dunno what I'd have done if I were in Ana's place.

Again, I really like how the final pic turned out. :)

You did an excellent job on the sketch! :D

I guess you'd pretty do what Ana did, which was nothing. Other than sit and sulk privately about it.

The right to die is always a bit of a touchy subject to broach publicly, and I can imagine the row these two may have had in private.

Touching pic.

Thank yeh.
Yeah, naturally i'd assume Charles wouldn't force that on people who made the conscious decision to die, but if someone was rendered unconscious... well.
I can just imagine if he ever had to use the machine on his sister and directly violated her desire to not undergo it when she was near unconsciousness and dying that it might be the end of their relationship.

If her mind survived the trauma...right?

It'd be kinda funny, because we both know the roboticizer didnt work right. So I guess what he did to Jules would happen to her only she's REALLY against it. So yeah..she'd probably be insane by the time it's over.

I wonder how difficult it would be to reprogram the personality of a Robian?

i imagine it'd be messy since some memories kinda work like dominoes; events transpire to create others that create others that...

so im not sure if core memories/opinions/traits can be manipulated without the potential to cause logic error. So maybe if you want to make them work right you have to basically build from the ground up and change all or most of their memories and once that happens you've pretty much just made a new person.

so.. it'd have that persons body but be someone else entirely! yay!

Sounds about like how Croc does it.
